Ukraine's General Staff reports 224 combat engagements, Kyiv death toll rises to 25

Ukraine's General Staff reported 224 combat engagements across the front lines on July 2, with the Pokrovsk, Sloviansk, and Huliaipole directions experiencing the highest number of Russian attacks. Specifically, 28 assaults occurred in the Pokrovsk area and 20 in Huliaipole. Russian forces also conducted two missile strikes involving 75 missiles, 62 air strikes, and deployed 187 guided bombs. Meanwhile, the death toll from Russia's July 2 missile and drone assault on Kyiv increased to 25, according to the State Emergency Service, following an earlier report of 23 fatalities by the city's military administration. Search and rescue operations are ongoing at three locations in the Darnytskyi district, where eight individuals remain unaccounted for at one site. Separately, a hospital in Kherson was shelled, resulting in the death of a 63-year-old doctor and injury to a nurse.
