Kyiv's death toll from Russia's July 2 missile and drone assault has risen to 25, with emergency services persisting in search and rescue operations across three sites in the Darnytskyi district. City military administration head Timur Tkachenko reported that eight individuals are still unaccounted for at one location where five bodies were recovered. Concurrently, Russian forces shelled a hospital in Kherson on the same day, resulting in the death of a 63-year-old doctor and injuries to a nurse.

Ukraine's General Staff reported 224 combat engagements across the front on July 2, including 28 in the Pokrovsk direction and 20 in the Huliaipole direction. Russian forces also conducted two missile strikes involving 75 missiles, 62 air strikes, and dropped 187 guided bombs. In response to these attacks, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reiterated his call for the United States to grant licenses for Patriot missile manufacturing, anticipating a favorable decision. Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov also urged approximately 40 partner nations for urgent Patriot transfers.
