Ukraine reports continued casualties, combat engagements, and attacks in Sumy, Mariupol, and Kyiv

Ukrainian authorities report ongoing casualties from Russian attacks in Sumy and Kyiv, explosions in occupied Mariupol, and 224 combat engagements across the front lines, alongside other significant strikes.

Ukrainian authorities have reported continued casualties and intense combat activity across the front lines. On July 3, a Russian drone attack in Ukraine's Sumy region, specifically the Romny community, resulted in two women's deaths and one man's injury after a residential building was struck. Separately, explosions and fires were reported in occupied Mariupol on the night of July 3, with a local resistance group suggesting drones targeted parked trucks. The death toll from Russia's July 2 missile and drone assault on Kyiv increased to 25, with search and rescue operations ongoing at three Darnytskyi district sites, where eight individuals remain unaccounted for at one location. Ukraine's General Staff reported 224 combat engagements on July 2, with Pokrovsk, Sloviansk, and Huliaipole directions seeing the most Russian attacks. Russian forces also conducted two missile strikes with 75 missiles, 62 air strikes, and deployed 187 guided bombs. A hospital in Kherson was also shelled on July 2, killing a 63-year-old doctor and injuring a nurse. Sources: Радіо Свобода, Українська правда
