Escalation continues as Iran strikes US facilities and claims Strait of Hormuz control

Following previous US strikes, Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps reportedly launched drone and missile attacks on US military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain, prompting further US strikes. Iran also claimed control of the Strait of Hormuz.

Following previous US strikes, Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps reportedly launched drone and missile attacks on US military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain on June 27. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) subsequently announced additional strikes on Iranian targets the same day, citing an attack on a tanker in the Strait of Hormuz. On June 28, Bahrain and Kuwait confirmed Iranian strikes on their territories, with Bahrain reporting intercepted projectiles and damage to a residential building.

Separately, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated Tehran had regained full control over shipping in the Strait of Hormuz for the next 30 days, cautioning against attempts to bypass Iranian-approved routes. This exchange marks a continued escalation between the nations.
