Dnipro death toll rises, Sumy injured increase, and Ukraine prepares for potential Chernihiv offensive

A 59-year-old man's death brings the Dnipro attack toll to seven, while 21 are injured in Sumy. Ukraine's Commander-in-Chief warns of a realistic Russian offensive on Chernihiv.

A 59-year-old man succumbed to injuries in hospital on June 30, raising the death toll from Russia's June 29 attack on Dnipro to seven. Sixteen people are still hospitalized, with seven in serious condition. Meanwhile, the number of individuals wounded in a Russian guided aerial bomb strike on an infrastructure facility in Sumy increased to 21; two are hospitalized, and 14 are undergoing medical assessment. Ukrainian forces reported approximately 1,350 Russian personnel killed or wounded across front lines on June 29, alongside the destruction of over 580 equipment units, including 71 artillery systems. Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi indicated that a Russian offensive on the Chernihiv region from Bryansk Oblast is a realistic possibility, for which Ukraine is preparing. He added that Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed his General Staff to evaluate various offensive strategies, including from Belarus, to capture Kyiv and other territories.
