Dnipro attack death toll rises as Ukraine prepares for potential Chernihiv offensive

A 59-year-old man died in hospital on June 30, raising the total fatalities from Russia's June 29 attack on Dnipro to seven. Sixteen individuals remain hospitalized, with seven in serious condition. Separately, a Russian strike using four guided aerial bombs on an infrastructure facility in Sumy injured 21 people, with two hospitalized and 14 undergoing medical examination. Ukrainian forces reported approximately 1,350 Russian personnel killed or wounded across front lines on June 29, along with the destruction of 71 artillery systems and other equipment. Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that a Russian offensive on the Chernihiv region from Bryansk Oblast is considered realistic, and Ukraine is preparing for such a scenario. He noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin has tasked his General Staff with calculating various offensive options, including from Belarus, to seize Kyiv and other territories.
