Ukraine reports drone interceptions, strikes Russian oil terminal, and new drone tech

Ukrainian air defenses intercepted 124 of 155 Russian drones on June 8, while Ukrainian forces struck an oil terminal in Novorossiysk. Separately, a Russian deployment point in Luhansk was destroyed, and new autonomous drone interception technology was tested in Kharkiv.

Russian forces launched 155 strike drones from multiple directions on the night of June 8, with Ukrainian air defenses reportedly intercepting or suppressing 124. Twenty drones struck 17 locations across Ukraine's northern, southern, and eastern regions. Separately, Ukrainian forces, including operators from the 1st Separate Center of Unmanned Systems, struck the "Grushova" oil terminal in Novorossiysk, Russia, on the same night, causing a fire. The facility is part of the "Sheskharis" complex, and the extent of damage is being clarified. Earlier, on June 7, Ukrainian forces destroyed a temporary Russian deployment point in Shchastia, Luhansk, identifying the target as the 5th Cossack reconnaissance and assault brigade "Terek." A new Ukrainian technology for drones to autonomously intercept Shaheds also underwent combat testing in Kharkiv Oblast. Sources: Радіо Свобода, Українська правда, Суспільне Новини
