Ukrainian air defenses reportedly intercepted or suppressed 124 of 155 Russian drones launched from multiple directions on the night of June 8, with 20 recorded hits across northern, southern, and eastern regions. Separately, Ukrainian forces, including the 1st Separate Center of Unmanned Systems, struck the "Grushova" oil terminal in Novorossiysk, Russia, on the same night, causing a fire. This terminal is part of the "Sheskharis" complex. Earlier, on June 7-8, Ukrainian forces destroyed a temporary Russian deployment point in Shchastia, Luhansk, identified as the 5th Cossack reconnaissance and assault brigade "Terek." Additionally, a new Ukrainian technology enabling drones to autonomously intercept Shaheds has undergone combat testing in Kharkiv Oblast.
