Kyiv experienced its most significant Russian assault since the 2022 invasion, resulting in 17 fatalities and 86 injuries. Mayor Vitali Klitschko described it as the most massive attack on the capital. Over 50,000 residents sought refuge in the city's metro system following the overnight bombardment, which severely damaged residential buildings. In response, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has requested a license from the United States for Patriot missile systems. The Kremlin affirmed Russia "will continue to intensify pressure on the Kyiv regime to achieve the set objectives." Separately, Russian air defenses reportedly intercepted 46 Ukrainian drones targeting Moscow without reported damage or casualties. Further Russian strikes caused three deaths and 18 injuries in the Zaporizhzhia region, three injuries in Dnipropetrovsk, and ten in Sumy, alongside electricity disruptions.
