Kyiv attack death toll rises to eight as fighting continues across Ukraine

Russian forces conducted missile and air strikes across Ukraine on July 1, resulting in increased casualties in Kyiv and continued combat along the front lines. An attack on Kyiv caused eight fatalities and 25 injuries, with damage reported in nearly 30 locations, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration. Earlier in the day, a drone strike on Kherson's city center killed one person and wounded 20, sparking a fire and damaging nearby structures. Ukrainian forces engaged in 210 combat clashes, with 23 concentrated in the Pokrovsk direction. Air defense systems were active in Kyiv during the evening, intercepting unmanned aerial vehicles.
