Ukraine seeks EU aid as Denmark and UK boost military support; South Korean firms plan major tech investments; US lifts AI export restrictions

Ukraine seeks €6.6 billion in EU military aid, while Denmark and the UK increase their support. South Korean tech giants plan massive investments in chips and AI, and the US lifts export restrictions on Anthropic's AI models.

Ukraine has urged European Union partners to allocate €6.6 billion from the European Peace Facility for military assistance, citing a "window of opportunity" on the front lines that could last six to nine months. Concurrently, Denmark announced its 30th military aid package for Ukraine, valued at approximately €590 million. The United Kingdom also committed an additional £15 billion ($19.8 billion) to modernize its armed forces, incorporating lessons from the conflict in Ukraine. In the technology sector, South Korean firms Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix are reportedly planning investments of approximately $876.36 billion for new chip manufacturing plants and artificial intelligence data centers, though one report cited a higher figure of $1.3 trillion for these expansions. Separately, the US has lifted export restrictions on Anthropic's powerful AI models, Claude Fable 5 and Claude Mythos 5, following an agreement with the company to enhance security measures.
