A 59-year-old man has died in hospital following Russia's June 29 attack on Dnipro, bringing the total fatalities to seven. Sixteen individuals remain hospitalized, with seven in serious condition. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces reported 184 combat engagements across the front lines on June 29, estimating approximately 1,350 Russian personnel killed or wounded, and the destruction of 71 artillery systems and other equipment.

Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that a Russian offensive on the Chernihiv region from Bryansk Oblast is considered realistic, and Ukraine is preparing for such a scenario. He noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin has tasked his General Staff with calculating various offensive options, including from Belarus, to seize Kyiv and other territories. Separately, the second anniversary of Russia's withdrawal from Snake Island was marked, with Ukrainian military pilots recalling the liberation operation as "scary, low, fast, and very maneuverable."

EU Special Representative for Ukrainians, Ylva Johansson, has expressed support for aligning temporary protection legislation with Ukraine's military obligations, stating she is "proud" of the current implementation and believes it "should have been done earlier." In an interview, Johansson addressed concerns about potential human rights implications of limiting protection for conscription-eligible men. She also discussed the possibility of extending temporary protection beyond 2028.
