Tensions between the United States and Iran saw continued reciprocal military actions, with Iran launching drone and missile attacks on US military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain on June 27. Tehran stated these were in response to earlier American strikes. Concurrently, the US Central Command announced further strikes against Iranian targets, citing an attack on the tanker "Ever Lovely" in the Strait of Hormuz. US President Donald Trump accused Tehran of violating a ceasefire agreement, while Iran threatened to withdraw from peace negotiations if US bombardments persisted. However, reports on June 28 indicated that the United States and Iran had agreed to halt mutual strikes and resume negotiations regarding the Strait of Hormuz, a development that reportedly led to a drop in Brent crude oil prices.
