Ukrainian authorities pursue various criminal cases nationwide

Ukrainian authorities are prosecuting a range of criminal cases, including treason allegations against an MP and a former official, illegal conscript transfers, drug dealing, and a fatal traffic accident.

Ukrainian law enforcement agencies have recently advanced several criminal investigations and legal proceedings across the country. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) reportedly sought to classify court rulings related to the release from custody of MP Nestor Shufrych, who is under suspicion of treason. His lawyer indicated that the specific ruling for his release is not publicly available in the judicial register.

Separately, a former State Emergency Service employee from Crimea is set to face trial on charges of treason and collaboration, accused of joining Russian structures after the peninsula's occupation and later recruiting former colleagues in occupied Kherson. In the Dnipropetrovsk region, two twin sisters are suspected of orchestrating illegal border crossings for conscripts by arranging fraudulent medical diagnoses. Additionally, five individuals in the Donetsk region have been sentenced to up to eight years for drug trafficking, and a 54-year-old driver in Kryvyi Rih faces suspicion for a fatal road accident that resulted in a child's death.
