NATO chief warns Russians as intense fighting continues; Romania addresses Black Sea incidents
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte warned Russians about high casualties in Ukraine, while Ukraine's General Staff reported intense fighting. Romania addressed a drone incident and a washed-up mine, as Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia.
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that over 30,000 Russian soldiers are killed monthly in Ukraine, cautioning Russians against participating in the conflict during a visit to Kyiv on June 3. Concurrently, Ukraine's General Staff reported 215 combat engagements across the front lines on the same day, noting two missile and 48 aerial strikes by the aggressor. Elsewhere, Romania's Foreign Minister Oana Ţoiu indicated that allies are preparing to bolster air defenses along NATO's eastern flank following a Russian drone incident impacting a residential building. Romanian naval forces also detonated a Russian-made anti-landing mine that washed ashore on its Black Sea coast on June 3. Separately, Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia with a drone, damaging a multi-story building, with no immediate reports of casualties.
