The state of La Guaira, north of Caracas, remains the most impacted region by the magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 tremors, which struck on Wednesday, June 24. The Maiquetia - Simon Bolivar International Airport in La Guaira remains closed. International assistance is being organized, with the United States pledging $150 million, France dispatching 85 rescuers, and the Pope contributing €100,000. Search and rescue operations continue amidst widespread destruction.
