US strikes Iranian military sites after Strait of Hormuz vessel attack

United States forces conducted strikes on Iranian military facilities on June 26, as confirmed by the US Central Command (CENTCOM). These actions were described as a decisive response to an attack on a merchant vessel in the Strait of Hormuz, which US President Donald Trump had previously attributed to Iranian drones. Targets reportedly included missile and drone storage facilities, alongside coastal radar stations. Following the strikes, US Vice President J.D. Vance stated that “violence will be met with violence.” Concurrently, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi reiterated that safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz necessitates coordination with Tehran, asserting it “cannot be guaranteed under ambiguous arrangements.”
