Ukraine reports continued combat and Russian losses; Crimea experiences explosions; Putin addresses fuel issues

Ukrainian forces reported approximately 1,230 Russian personnel killed or wounded, with total losses reaching 1,402,200. Intense combat continued in key sectors, while Russian strikes caused civilian casualties in Kharkiv.

Ukrainian defense forces reported approximately 1,230 Russian personnel were killed or wounded in the past 24 hours, bringing total estimated Russian losses to 1,402,200 since February 2022. On June 28, 197 combat engagements occurred, with Russian forces concentrating offensive efforts in the Sloviansk, Pokrovsk, and Huliaipole sectors. Russian strikes on Ukrainian territory resulted in civilian casualties, including one fatality and seven injuries, two of whom were children, in the Kharkiv region's Zmiivska community. Overnight into June 29, explosions were heard in occupied Crimea. Satellite images showed fires near a civil aviation airfield in Kerch and the "Maryanivka" power substation, which experienced partial power outages. Russian President Vladimir Putin acknowledged internal fuel supply issues, attributing them to Ukrainian attacks on oil infrastructure, and confirmed a ban on gasoline exports, with a similar measure for diesel anticipated.
