Ukraine intercepts 102 drones as Russia launches widespread attacks

Ukrainian air defense intercepted 102 of 117 Russian drones overnight, while ground attacks hit Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, and Sumy regions, causing casualties and damage. Ukraine's General Staff reported significant Russian personnel losses.

Ukrainian forces intercepted 102 out of 117 Russian attack drones, including Shahed, "Gerbera," "Italmas," and "Parody" types, launched overnight on June 12 from Russia and occupied Crimea. Fourteen drones struck seven locations, with debris affecting eight others. Separately, the Zaporizhzhia region experienced 949 strikes across 44 settlements, resulting in two fatalities and three injuries in the Zaporizhzhia and Polohy districts. In Mykolaiv, Russian shelling damaged 14 private homes and two vehicles, injuring a married couple. Railway infrastructure in the Sumy region was also targeted. Ukraine's General Staff reported that Russia lost approximately 1,300 military personnel and various equipment during the preceding day.
