Iran halts direct strikes on Israel after exchange; Israel hits Beirut

Iran's armed forces announced a halt to military operations against Israel after an exchange of strikes, the first since April's ceasefire. Israel also conducted airstrikes in Beirut, while a funeral was held for a Palestinian baby.
Iran's armed forces announced a halt to military operations against Israel following an exchange of strikes, marking the first direct confrontation since April's ceasefire. Iran claimed a "painful response" and warned Israel against further attacks, including in southern Lebanon. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed striking military targets within Iran. Separately, Israel conducted airstrikes in a southern Beirut suburb, a Hezbollah stronghold, killing two people and injuring 17, days after a US-brokered truce. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated these strikes targeted "terrorist headquarters" in response to Hezbollah's actions. Meanwhile, a funeral was held for a seven-month-old Palestinian baby fatally shot by an Israeli soldier in Hebron, with the IDF investigating the incident.
