South Korean tech giants Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix are reportedly planning substantial investments, totaling approximately $876 billion, for four new chip factories and three AI data centers. Meanwhile, German automaker Volkswagen is considering divesting key assets such as PowerCo, Traton, or Ducati, following plans to reduce its workforce by 100,000, though this may not fully stabilize the company. Separately, an Invesco survey indicates that sovereign funds and central banks managing $29 trillion are increasingly focusing on energy assets and expressing growing concerns about the US dollar's future role. European aluminum producers are urging Brussels to close a loophole that allows sanctioned Russian aluminum to enter the EU market via third countries. Additionally, Ukraine has secured €3.8 billion from the European Union, with funds designated for drones and the defense industry.
