
Zelenskyy details weekly Russian attacks as Ukraine confirms strikes on Russian targets
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy detailed extensive Russian aerial attacks over the past week, while Ukrainian forces confirmed strikes on a Russian defense plant and targets in occupied Crimea. Conflicting reports emerged on Sumy casualties.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that over the past week, Russian forces launched approximately 1,400 attack drones, nearly 1,500 guided aerial bombs, and 19 various missiles, including ballistic types. These attacks impacted 15 Ukrainian regions and civilian infrastructure, with daily shelling reported in Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Sumy.
On June 27, Russian forces attacked Sumy with a modified reactive drone, causing damage to residential buildings and transport. Reports on casualties vary, with [Українська правда] stating 13 residents, including two children, were injured, while [Радіо Свобода] reported 11 injured, including two children. All injuries were described as non-severe.
Separately, Zelenskyy confirmed Ukrainian forces used FP-5 "Flamingo" missiles in a June 27 strike on Russia's "Titan-Barricades" plant in Volgograd. Ukraine's General Staff also reported hitting a Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft system in Feodosia and the "Petropavlovsk" car ferry near Kerch in occupied Crimea.
