Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has revealed intelligence documents suggesting growing internal dissatisfaction within Russia, noting that President Putin may not always receive accurate information. Zelenskyy also underscored that Europe would face considerable challenges without Ukraine's experience in countering Russian aggression. Concurrently, the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission reported that May 2026 saw the highest civilian casualties in Ukraine in four years attributed to Russian aggression. Separately, Bundeswehr Space Command Commander Michael Traut speculated Russia might be developing space-based nuclear warheads, which could render "part of the orbit... unusable for decades." Furthermore, reports indicate the United States intends to significantly decrease its military aircraft and warship contributions to NATO in Europe, a move European officials fear could diminish the alliance's long-range capabilities.
