Wooden bridge collapses in Chernivtsi region, injuring children

A wooden bridge in Vyzhynka village, Chernivtsi region, collapsed on Saturday, June 6, resulting in injuries to several children. Reports indicate that a group of over 30 children, who were on an excursion, had simultaneously gathered on the structure, some reportedly for photographs, when it gave way. The bridge, spanning the Vyzhynka river, could not withstand the load and collapsed, sending the children into the water. Multiple children sustained various injuries and were subsequently hospitalized. Authorities, including the State Emergency Service and the Prosecutor's Office, are investigating the incident.
