The United States military has carried out strikes against Iranian targets following an attack on a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz. US President Donald Trump described the incident, which involved a one-way attack drone and caused no casualties, as a "foolish violation" of Iran's truce with Washington. In response to the ship attack, the UN's International Maritime Organization (IMO) paused its planned evacuation of over 11,000 sailors, citing safety concerns. Meanwhile, global oil prices have decreased to pre-conflict levels, with Brent crude briefly falling below $72.48 a barrel as shipping traffic gradually resumes. Separately, Israel and Lebanon have signed a framework agreement in Washington after US-brokered discussions.
