UN condemns Israeli settlements as five killed in Gaza, teenager in West Bank
The UN Secretary-General condemned Israeli settlement expansion in the West Bank, while five people were killed in Israeli bombardments in Gaza and a 15-year-old Palestinian died in the West Bank.
On Monday, June 29, a 15-year-old Palestinian, Amir Ahmad Jawad Jaber, was killed by Israeli soldiers in Al-Bireh, in the occupied West Bank. The Palestinian Authority Health Ministry stated he was struck by bullets to the head and chest during an Israeli "incursion." Separately, five people died in the Gaza Strip due to Israeli bombardments, with local hospital and rescue services reporting the casualties. Al-Aqsa hospital in Deir Al-Balah noted three fatalities from an Israeli drone strike on a civilian group. Concurrently, UN Secretary-General António Guterres condemned the "relentless expansion and acceleration" of Israeli settlements in the West Bank, which he said contributes to the most significant displacement crisis in the territory since 1967.
