Ukrainian air defenses intercepted a significant number of Russian drones over two consecutive nights. Ukrainian forces also struck a Russian oil terminal in Novorossiysk and a military site in Luhansk.

Ukrainian air defenses intercepted a significant number of Russian drones over two consecutive nights. On June 9, Ukrainian forces reportedly downed 146 out of 166 drones and two guided missiles. The preceding night, June 8, saw 124 of 155 Russian drones intercepted, with 20 striking targets across 17 locations in northern, southern, and eastern Ukraine. Concurrently, Ukrainian forces conducted a strike on Russia's "Grushova" oil terminal in Novorossiysk on June 8, causing a fire at the "Sheskharis" complex, with damage assessments underway. Earlier, on June 7, a temporary Russian deployment site belonging to the 5th Cossack reconnaissance and assault brigade "Terek" was destroyed in Shchastia, Luhansk.
