Russian national sentenced in US for false statements about FSB cooperation

Russian national Nomma Zarubina has been sentenced to 14 months in a US prison for providing false statements to the FBI regarding her alleged cooperation with Russia's FSB, a federal court in New York ruled.

A federal court in the Southern District of New York has sentenced Russian national Nomma Zarubina to 14 months in prison. The conviction relates to charges of providing false statements to the FBI concerning her alleged cooperation with Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB). The imposed sentence was less than the 18 months federal prosecutors had requested but exceeded the time Zarubina had already spent in custody. The court recommended her placement at Danbury prison in Connecticut. Her court-appointed attorney, Kristoff Williams, commented on the verdict.
