This action was observed in at least four Russian regions, including Ivanovo, Vladimir, Tver, Krasnokamyansk, and Chita. One such chat, 'Бензин 33' in the Vladimir region, had rapidly accumulated 15,000 subscribers within three days before its reported deletion. The blocked chats were used by people to share information and seek out petrol supplies amidst reported shortages.
