Russian forces launch large-scale aerial assault on Ukraine, Kyiv hit by ballistic missiles

Russian forces launched a large-scale aerial assault on Ukraine during the night of June 28, deploying approximately 150 aerial targets, including two anti-ship missiles, six Iskander ballistic missiles, and 142 attack drones, according to the Air Force. Kyiv was struck by ballistic missiles, resulting in fires in the Darnytskyi district and damage to a non-residential structure, with casualties reported. Meanwhile, intense combat persists along the front lines, with the General Staff noting 200 engagements, including 24 Russian attacks in the Huliaipole area and 19 near Sloviansk. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia utilized around 1,400 strike drones, nearly 1,500 guided aerial bombs, and 19 missiles across 15 Ukrainian regions over the past week. Regarding the June 27 drone strike on Sumy, [Українська правда] reported 13 injured, including two children with non-severe wounds, while [Радіо Свобода] previously cited 11 casualties.
