Remaining bail paid for former energy minister Halushchenko

The remaining 45 million UAH of former Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko's 150 million UAH bail has been paid by two private companies, one of which has an owner linked to a past NABU bribery case.

The outstanding 45 million Hryvnia of the 150 million Hryvnia bail set by the High Anti-Corruption Court for former Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko has been paid. Law enforcement sources informed "Schemes" (Radio Svoboda) that two private companies provided the funds. Journalists investigating the matter discovered that the owner of one of these firms had previously been implicated in a National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) case concerning alleged bribery of Ukrzaliznytsia officials. The individual reportedly stated to journalists that he was a whistleblower in that particular proceeding. This payment completes the required bail amount for the former minister.
