Pope Leo XIV visited Barcelona to inaugurate the newly completed Tower of Jesus Christ at the Sagrada Família basilica. The new tower, finished in February, stands at 172.5 meters, making the Sagrada Família the world's tallest church. Thousands gathered in the city's streets to witness the event, which also coincided with the 100th anniversary of the death of the basilica's architect, Antoni Gaudí. Pope Leo XIV described the Sagrada Família as a "masterpiece of stones, colours and light" during his visit.
