Lithuanian parliament approves Sinkevičius as prime minister

Lithuania's parliament, the Seimas, has formally approved Mindaugas Sinkevičius, leader of the Social Democratic Party, to serve as the nation's new prime minister. During the parliamentary session, 80 out of 110 deputies voted in favor of his appointment, while two opposed and 28 abstained. The 42-year-old Sinkevičius, who previously held the position of head of the Jonava district, emphasized that his background in local self-government has prepared him to focus on practical outcomes.
