Iran's Pezeshkian says US agreement coordinated with supreme leader

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has asserted that the framework agreement between Iran and the United States was developed in “full and constant coordination” with Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Speaking on June 30 to members of the Society of Seminary Teachers of Qom, a conservative clerical organization, Pezeshkian accused domestic critics of the accord of “cooperating with hostile media.” He emphasized that every phase of the negotiations received the Supreme Leader's explicit approval. The president's remarks appear to defend the agreement against internal opposition, acknowledging existing limitations and security considerations surrounding its final text.
