Incidents reported in Crimea and Donetsk, while Romania strengthens air defense and allies plan peace talks

Explosions and drone attacks hit Crimea and Donetsk, causing casualties and transport disruptions. Romania seeks stronger air defense after a drone incident, and European allies are reportedly developing plans for peace negotiations with Russia.
Multiple incidents were reported across Ukrainian territories and Crimea on June 4. Explosions were heard in temporarily occupied Crimea, with Ukrainian officials suggesting military targets were hit. Russian authorities responded by suspending railway traffic and briefly closing the Crimean Bridge, attributing the disruptions to a drone attack on Sevastopol. Concurrently, Russian-backed officials in occupied Yenakiieve, Donetsk region, reported a drone strike on a bus, claiming eight fatalities and eleven injuries, which Russia's Foreign Ministry condemned as a "terrorist act." Separately, Romanian Foreign Minister Oana Toiu announced that allies are preparing to bolster air defense along NATO's eastern flank after a Russian drone landed in Romania. Furthermore, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom are reportedly developing plans with Kyiv to engage Russia in peace negotiations, according to Bloomberg.
