France reports higher than usual heatwave deaths, minister says

Rist indicated that the extreme temperatures have a delayed impact, particularly affecting vulnerable individuals and some younger people. She noted that emergency rooms are seeing admissions five to ten days after the heatwave, suggesting a probable increase in mortality compared to the same period in previous years.
