Eleven European nations call for stricter Schengen visa rules for Russians

Eleven European nations have called on the European Commission to implement stricter measures concerning Schengen visas for Russian citizens. The group includes Poland, Sweden, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, and Iceland. Some of these countries have specifically urged an urgent block on issuing tourist visas to Russians, while others advocate for a more unified approach to visa restrictions across the Schengen area. This demand was reportedly communicated in a letter to EU officials.
