Ukraine continues to receive new military support packages from its European partners as it prepares for a possible new Russian offensive from the north.

zelensky.pngSweden has signed a contract to supply Ukraine with 16 Gripen E fighter jets worth 24.6 billion Swedish kronor (approximately $2.54 billion). The agreement with Swedish defence manufacturer Saab also includes technical support for the aircraft. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said deliveries are expected to begin in 2027, while Saab has stated that the aircraft are scheduled to be delivered in 2029–2030.

Meanwhile, Denmark has announced its 30th military aid package for Ukraine, worth 4.4 billion Danish kroner (approximately $671.8 million). Of that amount, 1.3 billion kroner will be allocated to finance Ukraine's procurement of domestically produced weapons under the so-called "Danish model." The remaining funds will also support the procurement of long-range artillery ammunition.

Against this backdrop, Ukraine's Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said the Ukrainian military is preparing for a possible new Russian offensive from the north. According to him, the most likely direction of attack would be from Russia's Bryansk region. At the same time, Syrskyi said he currently considers a new offensive from Belarus unlikely, despite previous warnings from Kyiv that Moscow has been trying to draw Minsk into a more active role in the war.
